Bungee jumping

From the site of an old quarry, just 20 minutes outside Ottawa, ON, in Wakefield, QC, Great Canadian Bungee (tel: 877-828-8170; bungee.ca) is home to North America’s highest bungee jump. The “Goliath” is a 61-metre leap over a limestone amphitheatre and aqua-blue lagoon the size of three football fields.

The Center of Gravity (780-489-4339; centerofgravitywem.com) in the gargantuan West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, AB is the world’s highest jump from an indoor bungee tower, looming 30.5 metres over the Blue Thunder wave pool.

Whistler Bungee (tel: 877-938-9333; whistlerbungee.com) has visitors launch from a 53-metre bridge over the glacial fed Cheakamus River, nestled between old growth forests and rugged basalt column cliffs.

Wild Play Element Parks (tel: 888-716-7374; wildplay.com) built North America’s first dedicated bungee bridge, which rises 46 metres over a river canyon in Nanaimo, BC.
