Downton Abbey’s US debut

Downton Abbey: The Exhibition made its US debut in New York City on November 18; it runs through January 2018 at 218 West 57th Street near Carnegie Hall. Based on the popular British TV show — the highest-rated PBS drama series of all time! — the touring exhibit will transport visitors back in time to post-Edwardian England. Some of the series’ most recognizable sets are on display from Mrs. Patmore’s hectic kitchen and the gossip-fuelled servants’ quarters to the family’s glamorous dining room and Lady Mary’s bedroom. About 50 costumes and thousands of artifacts are also on view. Visitors will get insight into British society, culture and fashion, from World War I to the Roaring Twenties. Tickets are date and time specific: adults from US$30; kids from US$15. downtonexhibition.com.
