Burma: Rivers of Flavor

One of Naomi Duguid’s artist friend’s once said “food is the last refuge;” in Burma: Rivers of Flavor, published by Random House Canada, the Ottawa-born writer and photographer explains that that’s especially true in Burma, or Myanmar, a country bordered by India, China and Thailand that’s slowly opening up to democracy after having been closed off for so long. Today, the people of Burma are happy to have a chance to engage with the outside world and the rest world is happy too; for their new freedoms — and for their rich and multilayered food.
